Fire Tower Frenzy

Come run wild with us through the woods on Nov 2, 2024 for a BRAND NEW RACE distance from Coyote Ugly Racing!! This beautiful fall race should offer you plenty of fall foliage and long range views from 2 places along the course! And new for 2024 a 100K option! Registration opens April 15, 2024!!

Fire Tower Frenzy will start and end at Mulberry Gap Adventure Basecamp located at 400 Mulberry Gap Rd, Ellijay, Ga. The course will take you on the grand tour of the Cohutta WMA located in Gilmer and Murray counties. You will summit Grassy Mountain and visit the fire tower, take a loop around Lake Conausaga, run down Bear Creek and over both Pinhoti 1 & 2 sections for a total of ~ 40 miles and 7k of climbing. The 100K option will then climb back to the top of Bear Creek, descend down to the bottom trail head, climb over Pinhoti 1 and 2 sections again and back to the finish for 60 miles and 10K vert.

We will have aid stops along the course serving up all your favorite ultra fare (mostly every 5-7 miles) and all the climbing you could want. Generous 13 hour cutoff (21 min/mile avg) for the 40 miler and a 19 hours cut off for the 100K!

There will be an aid station every 5-8 miles with all the goods (tailwind, water, soda, chips, pickles, pb&j, quesadillas, bacon, candy, and other assorted goodies). (This aid station chart will be updated for the 100K as we get closer to the event.)
